As my spinning has progressed I’ve had a few ideas along the way, and put together some bits and pieces that made my life easier.
The first one I thought I’d add here was a chart that converts niddy noddy wraps to yards – my niddy noddy is made by Ashford and one wrap equals five feet. The maths is easy enough, but I found that I wanted to know RIGHT NOW how long my yarn was! At the time I put this together I was taking part in a ‘how much 2-ply yarn can you get from 100g’ project, with a target of 800 yards, so I optimistically took the chart to around that length. I don’t think I ever got past 500 yards, but it’s there in case you need it.

Thats fantastic!
I sat for ages with a calculator trying to work out the length of some of my niddy noddy’d skeins!
thanks for that 🙂
Glad to be of service 🙂
Thank you for sharing this!
This is a total LIFESAVER for me. Thank you for your work xx
Glad to know it helps!
What was the length of the shaft of your noddy noddy? – that would seriously affect the yardage you get.
There are many different makes of Niddy Noddy available, this chart is based on one wrap measuring 5 yards which matches the standard Ashford model.
Thank you so much for this chart – it will be very useful!!
